What We Do
SAL provides a variety of sports opportunities to our youth in San Mateo County. For many of the participants our programs are their first experience playing a sport. These programs not only teach our youth about teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and endurance but also develop a sense of respect for the deputies and volunteers that are coaching.
Our mission for our athletics program is to build relationships between law enforcement, youth, and communities, while using programs as a vehicle to decrease juvenile delinquency and crime, increase graduation rates, decrease obesity rates, provide a caring adult in the lives of the youth we serve, and care for everyone's mental wellbeing.
