About S.T.A.R Camp - S.T.A.R. Camp is a transformative, week-long summer program for 5th through 8th graders, focused on serving underserved and at-risk youth in San Mateo County. From June 24 to June 27, up to 100 children will attend camp at the beautiful YMCA Camp Jones Gulch in La Honda, where they’ll take part in exciting, confidence-building activities like horseback riding, zip-lining, rock climbing, archery, and hiking.

Our camp serves children from underserved communities, including at-risk youth facing daily challenges such as gang and drug influences. Through interactive programs designed to build confidence, foster friendships, and create lasting memories, we empower campers with new skills, positive role models, and a sense of belonging. 

While the actual cost to provide this experience is $750 per child, we only charge families $175 to ensure it's accessible. No child is ever turned away due to financial need.
