The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Activities League (SAL) invites you to an unforgettable evening of celebration, connection, and community pride. Food, Wine & Heroes brings together the very best of San Mateo County—fine wine, gourmet food, live entertainment, and most importantly, the opportunity to honor the heroes who inspire us.

About the Event

For more than 27 years, SAL has been building bridges between law enforcement, youth, and our communities. This signature celebration recognizes not only our law enforcement partners and community leaders but also the young people shaping a brighter tomorrow.

At the heart of Food, Wine & Heroes is our mission to lift up youth voices and highlight their journeys. We believe that with mentorship, education, and wellness, every child has the potential to become a leader and a hero.

What Your Support Makes Possible

Your participation directly fuels programs that:

  • Mentor Youth – One-on-one and group mentorship programs that empower young people to grow, lead, and succeed.

  • Support Education – Academic support that raises graduation rates and builds career pathways.

  • Strengthen Communities – Initiatives that encourage responsibility, volunteerism, and unity across neighborhoods.

  • Promote Health & Wellness – Fitness, nutrition, and positive lifestyle programs to foster resilience.

A Legacy of Impact

Founded in 1997 by Sheriff Don Horsley, SAL began with a simple vision: strengthen the bond between deputies, youth, and the community. What started in North Fair Oaks has grown to reach over 11,000 youth annually across San Mateo County.

Under Sheriff Christina Corpus, SAL continues to thrive—expanding programs from mentorship to education, from Pescadero to Daly City—all with a commitment to:

  • Reducing juvenile delinquency

  • Increasing graduation rates

  • Combating youth obesity

  • Building the next generation of leaders

Why Attend?

When you join us on October 4th, you’re not just enjoying a world-class evening of food and wine. You’re making an investment in the future of San Mateo County’s youth. Together, we can ensure SAL continues to provide safe spaces, transformative programs, and opportunities that inspire success.

✨ Celebrate with us.✨ Support our mission.✨ Honor our heroes.✨ Highlight our youth.
